My dads Impossible peach cobbler

My dad swears this cobbler belongs on every holiday dessert table and once you taste it, you’ll agree. Simple, classic, and for the win.

Ingredients

  • * ½ cup sugar
  • * 1 cup milk
  • * 1 cup self-rising flour * or Bisquick*
  • topics:
  • * 1 stick butter
  • * 2–4 cans peaches in heavy syrup * depending on pan size*
  • * ½ cup sugar for topping
  • * 1 tsp nutmeg
  • * Cinnamon to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F
  • In a bowl, whisk together ½ cup sugar, milk, and flour until smooth. Set aside.
  • Melt 1 stick of butter and pour into a baking dish.
  • Add peaches (with syrup) directly into the butter.
  • Sprinkle peaches with ½ cup sugar, nutmeg, and cinnamon
  • Pour batter evenly over the peaches do not stir.
  • Bake 45 minutes to 1 hour, until golden brown and bubbling.
  • Let cool slightly. Serve with ice cream.
